If you’re tired of filling in your brows every morning, microblading might be the answer. As a physician assistant (PA-C) and licensed esthetician with over 16 years of experience doing brow transformations right here in McKinney, I’ve learned that honest pricing matters more than a sales pitch. Here’s everything you actually need to know before booking.
How much does microblading cost in McKinney?
At my studio in Adriatica Village, the initial microblading session is $475. That includes the full appointment: consultation, brow mapping, numbing, and the microblading itself.
Touch-ups are priced by timing:
- 4–6 weeks: $100 (this is the standard perfecting touch-up)
- 6–12 weeks: $250
- After 12 weeks: $350
Most clients need that first touch-up at 4–6 weeks. It’s completely normal. Your skin heals, some strokes soften, and we perfect the shape and color at that visit.
How long does microblading last?
Typically 12 to 18 months, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and sun exposure. Oily skin tends to fade pigment faster. Daily sunscreen on your brows makes a real difference in how long your results hold.
This isn’t a one-and-done-forever treatment. Think of it like hair color: beautiful for a long stretch, then a refresh keeps it looking its best. Most of my clients come back once a year or so for a color boost.
What happens at your microblading appointment?
The appointment takes about two hours, starting with a consultation and careful brow mapping based on your bone structure, not a template. After light first strokes and numbing, I create fine hair-like strokes matched to your natural brow color, then walk you through aftercare step by step.

What is healing like?
Honest answer: your brows will look darker and bolder for the first few days. Don’t panic. That’s part of the process.
- Days 1–3: Brows look darker than the final result.
- Days 5–10: Light flaking or peeling as the skin heals.
- Week 4: True color settles in. This is when we do your touch-up.
Aftercare basics: keep them dry, avoid heavy sweating and sun, don’t pick at flaking skin, and skip retinoids and acids on the brow area while healing. I’ll give you the full list at your appointment.
Is microblading right for you?
Microblading is ideal if you have sparse brows, uneven shape, or just want to stop drawing them on daily. It works on most skin types, though very oily skin or certain skin conditions may do better with a powder-brow technique instead. That’s exactly what the consultation is for: honest guidance on whether microblading is your best option, even if the answer is “not quite.”
Frequently asked questions
Does microblading hurt?
With topical numbing, most clients feel minimal discomfort, often described as light scratching.
Can I still wear makeup after microblading?
Yes, once you’re fully healed (about two weeks). Just keep makeup off the brow area during healing.
What’s the difference between microblading and powder brows?
Microblading creates individual hair-like strokes for a natural look. Powder brows give a soft, filled-in makeup look. Some clients combine both.
How do I choose a microblading artist in the DFW area?
Look for proper licensing, sterile technique, healed (not just fresh) before-and-after photos, and someone who maps brows to your face rather than using one shape for everyone. As a medical provider, sterile technique and skin knowledge are non-negotiable in my studio.
